Who are we?
Clason Mclean Creative Arts was founded by lifelong friends Aaron Clason and Robert Mclean, whose journey began all the way back in P5 (ages 8-9). From their high school dreams of taking center stage to their college realisation that their true calling lay behind the scenes, Aaron and Rob’s creative partnership has always been built on trust, passion, and a shared vision.
After founding The Crunch Collective with friends and making their mark on Scotland’s theatre scene, they realised there was even more out there for them to explore. This drive to push further and dream bigger led to the creation of Clason Mclean Creative Arts—a company dedicated to breaking boundaries, and delivering theatrical experiences that inspire and excite. Together, Aaron and Rob have become bold pioneers in the world of theatre, creating work that celebrates the richness and diversity of their audiences.
2019, school of rock at our high school!
Hi, I’m Aaron Clason, a Thai-Scottish theatre producer and creative from Edinburgh, now based in London. I’m currently pursuing an MA in Creative Producing at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, following a BA (Hons) in Drama and Dance. Emphasis on Drama—seriously, don’t ask me to dance.
I’ve been producing everything from bold new writing to touring shows across Scotland and the UK from the Edinburgh fringe to the Brighton fringe, collaborating with emerging playwrights, and creating work that inspires and connects with modern audiences. For me, it’s all about crafting stories that leave an impact, whether they’re brand-new voices or something nostalgic and familiar.
When I’m not producing, I’m usually diving into dramaturgy, script development, you may see me one the stage one day (only certain roles will call me back) Outside of work, I’m a musical theatre superfan, a gamer, a WWE and football enthusiast, and a lover of gorillas. (Yes, gorillas—don’t hesitate to ask me about them!)
